Reminiscent of small town America, the Palisades is located between its “Main Street”, MacArthur Boulevard and the C & O Canal. Homes are an eclectic mix of architectural styles, including Victorians, colonials, bungalows and cottages, most of which were built between 1900 and 1940. Some of the streets have views of the Potomac Bluffs and the river. Kent is located across MacArthur Boulevard from the Palisades and is characterized by large, stately colonials, although there are some smaller homes as well. The Palisades and Kent share village-style shopping areas and are united by an active citizens association. Both neighborhoods enjoy excellent bus service.
